“It's Friday, Friday
Gotta get down on Friday”

Friday is in the rearview mirror. The gettin’ down is over and the gettin’ up begins with Screenshot Saturday #33.
Special Edition
If this issue was a pill, it would be Xanax.
Look, Screenshot Saturday’s content is often xenophobic America focused so it would be almost impossible to avoid the upcoming presidential election with the normal format. It’s just about the only thing anyone is covering or talking about online. More importantly, it is inducing stress for many (if not most) people. Tensions are escalating, hostility is rising. The anxiety is palpable as election day nears.
Today, Screenshot Saturday sets aside its usual content that is depraved/bizarre/sarcastic/pessimistic/uninspired/salacious/tacky/insensitive/exploitative/etc. This week is all about feeling good. As the Partridge Family would say:
Hello world, here's a song that we're singin'
Come on, get happy
A whole lotta lovin' is what we'll be bringin'
We'll make you happy
(”Come On Get Happy”)
And therein lies the remedy for our collective unease. Over the years I’ve learned nothing can consistently make me feel better than classic TV theme songs. They dry tears, turn frowns upside now. Anger dissipates.
For one week only, the usual 8 screenshots are replaced with 8 feel-good TV show theme songs. Why? Because “Eight is enough, to fill our lives with love.”
It’s been a tough election cycle on women with both parties applying the pressure on how important their vote will be. There’s one woman who can always remind us, “You might just make it after all.”
When the dust finally settles Tuesday night (or Wednesday morning, or two weeks later, or….), whether your side wins or loses, it’s important to remember what’s most important is our loved ones. So don’t forget to tell them, “Thank you for being a friend.”
Regardless of your view on the migrant issue, there will always be one immigrant that we can all agree on.
There’s been a lot of discussion about who black people, particularly young black men, will vote for. Come what may, here’s hoping everyone in America has a chance to get a piece of the pie.
A rough around the edges guy from New York and a cautious career woman square off to see who’s the boss? We’ve seen this before, and we came to love them both.
A sobering realization is regardless of who wins, roughly half of the people will be feeling a little sad and maybe hopeless. But even if you find yourself on the losing side, you can’t give up on making your dreams come true.
Because at the end of the day, “You take the good, you take the bad. You take them both and there you have, the facts of life.”
That concludes this week’s Screenshot Saturday.
Take it away, Rebecca.
This Saturday we're gonna party all night
One we will remember for the rest of our lives
This Saturday we're gonna do it bigger than we ever have before
I don't want this Saturday to end
”Saturday,” Rebecca Black
